Do you think our nation is better off after removing God from our public schools and the Ten Commandments from our courthouses? Are we more financially stable? Are our families more unified and loving or more separated and torn apart? America is suffering because we have taken God and His Word out of the public arena?
President Andrew Jackson said, “The Bible is the rock on which our republic rests.” This was true when our nation began, but it is no longer true today. Today we have removed prayer, the Ten Commandments, and the Bible from our schools and governmental buildings. Many families no longer devote time to studying Scripture and to following God's truths and principles. We are seeing the consequences of this all across our nation.
We are making a HUGE mistake today in our generation. We have elevated the US Constitution to being heeded more than God's Holy Word. Our governmental leaders are searching the Constitution for answers and wisdom
on where religious freedom ends and begins. Our foundation needs to be upon God's Holy Word and not a man made constitution. Almost all of our presidents placed their hands upon the Bible when they were sworn into office symbolizing where our allegiance should be as a "Christian nation".
Societies of men must be governed in one way or another. They can either be governed with a heavy hand from a civil government or they can be self-governed based upon the teachings of Christ. Heavy-handed government cannot restrain the sinfulness of man. Christ and Christ alone can change the character of man.
Our first president understood this when he said, "It is the duty of all nations to acknowledge the providence of almighty God, to obey His will, to be grateful for His benefits, and humbly implore His protection and favor."
